Texts From Last Night: The Giveaway

I know, I know. What’s the point of a blogging break if I keep coming back? Don’t judge me man!

I’m popping in again to talk books. Not just ANY book, but a funny book. Who doesn’t love a funny book? I certainly love funny books. Just ask blog crush. I can spend hours in a book store searching through “Where’s Elvis” and laughing at Jesus riding a dinosaur. I’ve gotten off track haven’t I…?

Anyway, by now many of you have heard about textsfromlastnight.com, and if you haven’t, you’re missing out. Texts From Last Night is a website where the most inappropriate, hilarious, drunken texts live. The website was such a hit that the authors, Lauren Leto and Ben Bator, so awesomely put them in a book for us. I don’t know about you, but I happen to love leaving random books lying around the house for my guests*.

The book, Texts From Last Night: All the Texts that No One Remembers Sending, is better than a best friend. It’s your shoulder to cry on. Your pick-me-up when you’re down. It’s a great reminder that no matter what you’ve done, someone somewhere did much worse. And if one of your texts is in there, well, congrats?

A few of my favorites:

(540): what do you have against ST?
(1-540): DO NOT ABBREVIATE LIKE YOU AND STAR TREK ARE FRIENDS.

(901): I really wish I could go back in time to change the course of events that led to me sitting on the internet at 3 Googling ‘Traumatic masturbation’ while talking to you about failed dates, and running a virtual restaurant in a video game.

(508): I just woke up and my boobs have “fun police” written on them.

(760): I’m pretty sure the devil’s penis is california-shaped.

I’m pretty sure I could keep going, but I’d rather give you a chance to read some. I must warn you: It’s incredibly difficult to put it down once you pick it up. Be prepared to read the entire thing, laugh out loud no less than 19 times and possibly cry. Twice. Okay, four times.
