This post is part of the Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Thanks to Gwen Bell I will be looking back at 2009 for the next month and highlighting the best parts. 2009 was a crazy year for me. Hopefully we’ll both enjoy the recap!
December 2 – Best Restaurant Moment
This was tough. I spent a lot of time in various restaurants, bars and meeting spaces in 2009. After much thought I decided on July 15th at Wilde.
I chose this, not only because it was my birthday, but because of what it represented. And the macaroni and cheese. I remember exactly where my mind was that night. I was hours away from flying out to LA to let my company know that yes, I would be moving to LA sometime in 2009.
I was:
- Happy. So many of my friends came to celebrate with me.
- Sad. I would be leaving them in only a few months that would fly by.
- Excited. I’ve treated life as a journey and I’ve enjoyed the adventure so far.
- Grateful. The last seven months have brought so many incredible opportunities and friendships my way.
More importantly I was inspired. I received the push I needed that night. Up until that point I was freaking about about turning 25. I had so many unanswered questions. I was undecided about my career, but the support I received was the deciding factor. The shared laughs were exactly what I needed. Distance is only an obstacle, not a road block.
Thank you.

It could have been all the food, but I like to think it was my friends who put me into the super calm coma

One of my favorite meals of the year was a birthday meal, too. In Chicago during BlogHer.
I still haven’t decided if that’s what I’m going to run w/for my post today. Because the company was amazing (w/the Kirtsy girls) but there are restaurants since then that have blown me away. Anyway, I look forward to reading about the rest of your year!

Evenings that include good friends, great feelings, food that involves cheese and chocolate is a good night in my book. That dessert looks fantastic and is not helping my chocolate craving right now.
