I just had to say that I was a wee one. The most annoying thing about gaming online is of course, the guys... now you'd think most guys would know how to appreciate a good female gamer but half the time I'm either called a boy, who's testicles have yet to descend, or some fat chic who can't bone a guy.

I've got two kiddos and I weigh less then a buck, so no problems in that department. Mostly, I think they're just jealous that this chic just whooped their ASS. in yo face, beeyotch. :)
(obviously I can be a shit talker)

I don't know if the world could handle more me. It might explode. Or implode. Or just 'plode.

I think soon marketers will realize that creating gender specific games isn't the money maker. Yeah, traditionally parents haven't seen gaming as something for their daughters, but I think that'll change. It's just going to take time.

I'm going to game with any offspring I have, but they've got to earn it. It's a privilege.

That's awesome Erini, I wish there were more people like you! Anyway even though I'm an awful stereotyping person, I do think those are general rules to follow for anyone new to video games.

The whole genderizing (is that a word?) of video games probably shouldn't exist, but it totally does and I agree it's important to be mindful of that. In the end I get the feeling that over time as more and more kids grow up with video games, we're going to lose that gender stereotype of the girl and guy gamer.

I know when I grow up my kids will be playing video games. Hell I'll be playing with them =D

I grew up with an older brother, and therefore video games. I'll never know if without him I'd still love them, but regardless, I love them.

And though I do love Spyro, I've got to say I love me some shooter games. I spent many a night at a friend's house playing what we dubbed "SMASH & KILL"... (my friend and I would be giant barbarians, who's sole purpose in the game was to smash and kill things.)

I hate this gender-ing of video games. I don't believe there are boy games and girl games. (Though they are pushing these fluffy happy games in pink and lilac on girls like crazy, so I doubt boys would like them all that much, but kudos & who cares if they do.)

...err.. rambling.

Anyway. Yes, I'm a girl. Yes, I game. I don't do online gaming because I use Macs. But I've got a Wii, DSi, and playstation. If I had the funds I'd have a xbox 360 and a PS3. I like shooter and racing games as well as the standard mario games and fantasy ones.
