I’m not fat; You’re stupid

by freeandflawed on June 1, 2009

After spending some time feeling unhappy about my current diet and lack of activity, I decided to enjoy some hula hooping and boxing on my Wii.

It’s definitely been a while since I picked up a Wiimote because all the batteries were dead. After replacing everything, I hopped on the balance board, ready to girate my pelvis into a size four. I was greeted with the standard, “Hey, it’s been X-many days since you’ve worked out.” Yeah, thanks for the guilt. I decided to torture myself and check my weight and BMI. My BMI wasn’t bad; it’s still within the normal range. I’d be lying if my weight stayed the same for 150+ days.

Instead of a simple, “Hey, you weigh this much, let’s get to work!” It was like, “Hey, you’re heavy. First step off of me and second let’s choose a more attainable goal since you obviously suck when it comes to follow-through.” Wow…thanks for making me feel like a fat cow. I’m not going to lie, I’ve put on about 10 pounds since last summer. I’m not thrilled about it, but I don’t need a stupid balance board yelling at me.

So I did what any sane geek would do: I turned on Wii boxing and punched the shit out of what I imagined was the Wii balance board. I won them all. Take that.

No wonder I let the batteries die…

(Yeah…I can’t draw boxing gloves on Paint.)

Great, so you paid for this thing and it tells you can’t do what you want because it isn’t “attainable”?! If that’s what I wanted, I’d call my mother. ;)

Nintendo is really Big Brother in disguise. Right now Nintendo thinks I’m fat/lazy (Wiifit), stupid/lazy (Brainage), & a drunk driver (Mario Kart). I bet all my online job applications were linked to these facts without my knowing…..& that’s why no one is calling me back!

F that balance board. Who is it to judge?

I just got a Wii and Punch Out for my birthday. Nothing like kicking the crap out of Glass Joe to ease some stress.

Great paint skills as usual, although you have no feet! Eek!

I’ve convinced myself that playing Wii tennis is going to build my arm muscles…

I just have to figure out how to play left handed otherwise I’m going to end up with one freakishly buff right arm and one skinny left arm like a weird comic book villan…

This totally made me laugh. I have definitely had a similar experience where I felt rather insulted by that Wii Board.

The Wii Fit is a meanie pants. So I hear. I’m not cool enough to have one.

But that hula hoop thing is no joke! It’s way more fun to watch someone else do it, though.

If we let the machines tell us what to do, they’ll take over the earth. I’m just not ready for that.

I love winning at boxing. I like to kid myself that I’m losing weight too. Saying that, I’d love a wiiiiiiiiiiii but they’re sooooo expensive :(

Wiii fit is sooooo much better than doing actual sports anywhere else. The laziness just comes too quick, not with wii though :)

Maybe I need a wii fit, to mean me into action. I am a master bowler on wii, not so much in real life…
