When I used to live with my best friend, her cat would wake me up EVERY morning at 7am sharp. She'd sit there and meow this horrible meow that sounded more like someone squeezing an ostridge, and then when that wouldn't work she'd start pawing her claw-free paws at the door and SLAMMING HER HEAD on the door, which really just sounded sad. So I'd finally let her in. Annnd that's why this happened every morning. Freakin' cats!

This makes me happy because Lucy does the same thing for me. One of her favorite things is to run around the room as fast as she can, jumping on the bed and landing on top of me.

It sucks, huh? Here's to hoping the cats let you sleep a little more in the future.

I'd say this is why I have a dog and not a cat, but the dog tries to make sure I don't get a good night's sleep either by wedging all 55 pounds of her muscle right up against me so I can't turn over. Sigh. Pets.

Reminds me of my old kitty... he was so hungry all the time. I used to feed him when he woke me up, then go back to sleep, but it kept getting earlier, and earlier, until he would be scratching and meowing at 3am. So I began spraying him with water. So, then, at 3 am, he would wake me up and run and hide when I woke up. I eventually had to lock him in the bathroom with the fan on until a more reasonable time because I couldn't reinforce him for his awful behaviour by feeding him...

I hate to say, but I'm giggling while reading this. Because they are just too cute. They're holding hands! Damn one of them is cubby too. Time for him/her to work out a little bit. I think you're provoking these cats :) JK

Husband and I are adopting our first cat on Monday. Now I'm scared! Although with many foster cats we've never had a problem. They sleep with us until they are insane, then we close the door and they play in the living room.

You are so not alone. I would like to know if cats have some innate sense of what will annoy the humans the most. I mean, the freakin blinds are there all day, but the only time my cat ef's with them is at night. She also bats the lamp cords, scratches the walls and sends anything I have loose on the dresser flying across the room. And if I lock her in the other bedroom, she paws at the door all night and MMMEEOOWWSSS!!!
