Happy birthday to me!

by freeandflawed on September 29, 2008

No, it’s not really my birthday, but I just did a bit of birthday shopping. The man friend gave me a gift certificate so I could knock down my wish list on Amazon. Want to see what I got? Sure you do!

Like I’m really going to resist adding this to my DVD collection?

Queen of Babble in the Big City by Meg Cabot. I haven’t read any of her others books and thought I should start somewhere.

The Personal Organizing Workbook

Final Exam: A Surgeon’s Reflections on Mortality by Pauline W. Chen

Thanks man friend :) I’m already having a difficult time deciding which one I’m going to read first!

Tell me, what’s on your wish list?

There are a ton of books that came out for the summer that I still haven’t read. I’d also love to have the box set of NCIS. That would be pretty sweet.

I am dying for a Vespa, even though we are getting dangerously close to bad scooter weather. It might have to wait for spring.

Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Sarah McLachlan. It was one of my favorites back in the day, and I’ve been craving it lately. Can’t find my copy.

Sweaters. Fall sweaters. Sweaters from Victoria Secret. Sweaters from JCPenneys. More sweaters.

I need a good drugstore splurge- hair stuff, waxing stuff (I want to try it), nail polish.

Don’t really have time for books right now. :( Working all day and then working from home. If I did have any time, I’d need to be using it to learn some Algebra before January.

You can’t buy it on Amazon, but I would give an eye tooth for a pedicure. At the Grove Park Inn. ;)

A nice pair of boots so I don’t freeze all winter, stationary, and groceries. It sounds silly but I spend far too much on food and would love the opportunity to get some fancy chocolate without feeling guilty :)

Sex and the city tops my list.

okokok…not really. Right now I am obsessed with getting my “vintage” collection done.

I have to get all my fav old books. to kill a mockingbird, catcher in the rye, gatsby, p & p, etc.

they are selling them for like $8.00 and up…so my plan is to buy 100 of my favs by the end of the year next year.

just to have them, ya know?

I can’t wait to buy SATC!

The Queen of Babble books are really good. But you should start with the first one, Queen of Babble before reading the second one which is the Big City.

and i’m back. :) i love your blog, jenn! i am STILL catching up from being gone a whole bunch in september.

i am a book whore. i really dig nonfiction (old lady face) and have a TON of books on my wishlist. i’d also really like the SATC movie on dvd. :)

new books on my list: “Escape” by Carolyn Jessop — long story short, she took her 7 kids and escaped the FLDS church. Yikes. Would be scary, but I bet the book is tres interesting.

“Bumping into Geniuses” by Danny Goldberg — he was a record exec for a long time and that’s a profession that’s always fascinated me.

“The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts” by Tom Farley Jr. — BFF loves Chris and I have always found him fascinating, so I think we’re both going to be reading this one soon. Chris was so hilarious and it’s just so sad he couldn’t get his demons under control. :( He was a very comedically talented young man.

Last but certainly not least (just might buy this one myself): “Never Suck A Dead Man’s Hand: Curious Adventures of a CSI” by Dana Kollmann — she used to be a CSI. And yes, the title is something she ran across once. Gross. But fascinatingly so. ;)
