Apparently I’m witty

Who would have thunk it?! (This title has absolutely nothing to do with the following post)

Yesterday was a crazy day. I felt like I was moving from the minute I woke up until the minute I got in bed at 2:30 a.m. Even when I tried to sneak in a nap around 2 p.m. I’m pretty sure I was still moving my legs in bed.

I ran some errands at school, picking up books and a U-pass. Woo hoo! I even bought a couple extra (optional) books because I am a huge nerd. Deal with it. My flashcards smell eff’in fantastic. I’m slowly learning my way around the East campus. I really wish I lived closer to school. It would be much more convenient.

The man friend joined me at my company’s party at the House of Blues last night. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking bringing someone you’re still getting to know. “Hey, we don’t know each other all that well, but go meet everyone I work with.” It turned out great though. I was a working guest, but I still had a good time. The band was pretty fun (can’t remember their name) and the food was really good. I’m also very impressed with some of co-worker’s dance skills.

Then we joined the birthday girl at her apartment for some drinks and celebrating. I’m glad I went because I also got to see Cheryl and TKTC. Even Miss Lovely showed up with her boyfriend. It was a good night, which resulted in a small headache and a sore wrist.

I woke up in some pain and I couldn’t figure out what I did to my wrist. At first I assumed it was computer use, but I think my right would hurt more than the left since the right is my mousing hand. At some point while driving down I-90 this morning I vaguely remembered flailing my wrist around trying to crack it last night. I’m not a doctor, but I’m guessing that might not be the best way to crack a wrist. Are you even supposed to crack your wrist? Probably not.

Today I have some eff’in math homework to do. Classes haven’t even begun officially and I have homework!

Lessons to be learned from Friday night: Drink wine slowly. It’s a sipping drink. Also, dark elevators make for excellent crime scene number twos. You know, in case you were looking for one. Oh! And don’t fall asleep in a cab because you may have the one cab driver who doesn’t know where he’s going and drive for ten minutes in the wrong direction.

How’s everyone’s weekend shaping up? Doing anything super fun?

You were so wasted. hahaha No but you were flailing your wrist around trying to crack it!

My weekend sucks so far, but that’s not my point. I agree with the wine. I have a bad habit of chugging it out of the bottle. . . not such a good thing :) I’m, oh, so sophisticated.

I love drinking really awful cheap wine at parties. This could be a theater thing, though I’m not sure. But the thing to love is that with every sip, that shitty taste gets better and better. And much fun ensues.

I don’t remember how much I drank last night, but it was enough to desiccate my entire body. I don’t feel bad, so much as I feel dry. My skin is dry. My mouth is dry. Etc. It was an awesome night, though.

Today is “put the pieces back together” day- grocery shopping, housework, laundry. Drinking lots of water, albeit slowly.

Tomorrow I hope to get some time on the Parkway, and maybe a nap. Can’t take one today or I’ll be up all night.

I gave up wine. I like it, but it makes me stoopid. Why I am more coherent and capable after 6 vodka and cranberries than 6 glasses of white wine I’m not sure, but there you have it. I haven’t had a drop of wine since I got stuck in the airport all weekend in May. ;-)
Take some ibuprofen for that wrist! :)

Sounds like you had a good time :) HA Hope your wrist feels better. I wouldn’t know how to “crack” anything correctly, if I accidentally do it inflicts so much pain I almost cry. I’m not one of those people who routinely pops their neck, back, fingers, etc so it just kills. Weekend so far has consisted of watching some movies, chopping up veggies and storing them so I’ll actually eat them instead of letting them go bad and wondering if Mr. Baseball guy will text.

Chugging wine has lead to many bad choices. The exception to this is super cheap wine, which as Phil said, gets better and better with every sip.

Alls well that ends well. I had fun too.

My weekend is going well so far although I feel like a total chicken because I abandoned the new city to go back to the old city. Whatever, I have things that need to be taken care of! :)

Oh God, the wine was my downfall last night too!

1 bottle = 45 minutes = almost dead.

My weekend is great so far. Apparently I am some sort of Olympic athlete in Wii bowling, love the new Wii. I’m reading great books and tonight we are going to my favorite Italian Bistro for live Jazz and dinner. YAY for weekends! Hope your wrist feels better soon.

My weekend is finally starting now that I’m finished with work. :) I can think of at least one event that would have been more fun than where I was at! Seriously.

You lessons learned are a story of tales in themselves.

My brain hurts from drinking too much last night… but hell it was fun.

just read your blog and like it..btw very funny because i can totally relate to getting home wasted..i just did on saturday morning..lol i wish everyday is weekendd

I’ve never really been a big wine drinker. It just goes right to my head and I end up with a giant headache and a bright red face! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself though!

This weekend I went on a boat cruise with my boyfriend and his work. It was the type of situation where the people are so varied and odd you need to drink to tolerate everyone, so I did. Woke up feeling alright, which is awesome. Today is also the start of the very official ‘corporate realignment’ at my company, so I will be relieved when my 24 hour shift is done on Tuesday :)

Haha. Wine is definitely to be drank slowly. Bad things can happen if it goes down too fast…

Sounds like you’ve had a great weekend!

I’m going to use this post as a reminder the next time I get the urge to guzzle wine.

i could have told you you were witty ages ago.

Well and there was SO much wine :) It was great to see you. Hope the rest of your weekend was a fun one.

I totally agree about awkwardness re: “Hey, we don’t know each other all that well, but go meet everyone I work with.” Except replace “everyone I work with” with “crazy friends I’ve known for a decade who really aren’t that nuts once you get to know them.” This is why I didn’t bring my new boy toy to my birthday shenanigans over the weekend. A party full of drunken people intent ons haring embarassing stories while stuffing their faces with ice cream cake is not the ideal scenario to introduce a romantic fling to.

I always buy the optional books…I will also admit that sometimes I look at the books the other classes require and buy those, if they look especially interesting.

Yeah, I am a nerd!
