I cracked.

Hello from Florida, the sunshine rainy until your heart breaks state.

My vacation has been pretty rainy. Even when it’s sunny, it’s raining. Apparently Hurricane Fay is headed this way. Lucky for me I should be on a plane and on my way back to Chicago before it gets here. We’ll see though. If I can survive a tornado, I’m sure I can survive a category one hurricane.

Aside from the crappy weather the trip has been pretty relaxing. I’ve tried to stay away from the Internet as much as I could, but upon finding out my blog mysteriously disappeared over night, I’ve been having an epic battle with WordPress about transferring my old posts over to this blog. So, excuse my dust while I get comfortable in my new home.

Back to the relaxing part of my trip. I’ve been sitting poolside (it’s covered) and enjoying some good conversation and Olympic coverage with my best friend and his girlfriend. I even enjoyed some tequila with margarita in it while lounging in a hot tub. Some of you will find this hard to believe, but I ate wings for the first time ever. It was messy, but it was delicious.

Unfortunately, being out here has forced me to think and I’ve been spending a little time sorting through some relationship poo-poo. An uncomfortable conversation sparked these thoughts and I can’t say I’m very happy about the feelings it brought up. I won’t get into details, but my guard is up. I have a lot to consider, but I’d like to finish the rest of my vacation on a high note and dig through that mucky muck at home.

I’m off to check up on the Bears game. Once again, don’t mind my mess here at Free and Flawed. Hopefully everything will be back to normal next week.

Sadly, I will be here for the hurricane sweeping up the coast. And it might hit me twice… Once in Sarasota, then again in Tallahassee. Fantastic.

Hopefully the hurricane doesn’t sour your trip too much!

I was worried that you’d deleted your blog and disappeared like some of my other favorites. Now, google reader doesn’t seem to tell me when you’ve updated. Hmph. I hope wordpress is able to recover your past entries and that Florida got a bit sunnier, in more ways than one.

My boyfriend is here right now and he was SUPPOSED to leave tomorrow, but can’t due to the tropical storm. Glad you’re missing it. Sadly, I’m not. UGH.

Welcome to Florida. :)

Ah, this explains why I haven’t gotten your updates!

But on the thoughts your trip is bringing up, consider that sometimes travel helps you find things about yourself you wouldn’t at home. Sometimes it’s useful to see yourself in a different light. Just don’t let it take over and you’ll be okay.

I know you’re back home now, but from your Tweets it didn’t sound like the best vacation. I hope things settle soon.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation despite the rain and relationship poo-poo. Maybe it’s a good thing you’re sorting through your thoughts and feelings, as long as you end up a stronger person for it.

I really hate that you can never technically take a vacation from your own head. I spent the entire week at Atlantis all tangled up in my own shit that I hardly could enjoy myself.

You will get through this because you are a strong, kick ass woman. I have faith in you.

Although I’m sure some drier weather would be nice, it’s good to know that you’re having a good time with some great friends. Seriously, though, you need to eat wings more often. They are a basic food group!

I give you props for digging into the wings. They’re far too messy and far too much work with far too little prize at the end to muster any excitement from me.

I agree with you. After eating them for the first time I was pretty disappointed. I could see myself eating them at home though. They’re too messy and eventually I got tired of wiping my face.

As for the trip- I’m glad that despite the rain and whatnot you had a great time. Relax, spend time with friends, etc. I know things are messy and such.

You are a strong chica and this definitely proves it.
