Me: I just can’t help but feel bad about it.
Mom: Is there anything I can do to make you not feel bad? Like kicking you in the face?
That’s love.

Your mom sounds like maybe she’s a little bit like my mom. So cool.

Blunt and simple! My mom has extensive conversations with me that basically mean the same thing (her inner psychologist speaking)…but usually it all boils down to what your mom said in one sentence :).

Awww, how sweet! I wish I had a relationship with my mother like that. Where she would offer to kick me in the face.

Hey, are you coming to Boston for my birthday? I’d like that. Let’s talk. Maybe Mom can send you here for my birthday. That might help

Ha, that’s awesome. Usually, when I’m talking to my mom, I just wanna kick myself in the face. It’s that fun.
By poodlegoose on 07.08.08 2:48 pm | Permalink
Haha that’s awesome.
My mom is SO not like that; she’d be more like, “Well don’t feel bad. I don’t understand why you feel bad, you have nothing to feel bad about,” and blahblahblah until, yes, I’d almost prefer a kick in the face.
