Confession: Fireworks scare me. I used to hide indoors during the fourth because I was afraid one would hit me. Also, the loud noise scares me. I’ve gotten better and now enjoy watching from a safe distance. You will never see me light one.
\

Request: Dear neighbors on the corner, I appreciate your firework show every year. Could you limit the amount of M80s thrown in there? I’m tired of the car alarms going off and/or waking up believing there is an earthquake. Thank you.

I, too, am afraid of fireworks. I can only do the big displays cities put on. You’ll never catch me having a display in my own driveway. I’m sure my children will feel deprived, but whatever

We just had Canada Day on July 1st - you would have approved Jenn, to the best of my knowledge there were no fireworks here in Vancouver. Vancouverites don’t care about Canada Day, they save their energy for Halloween!

I used to be nervous around fireworks. Probably because one year, the sparks descended on me and my cousin and yeah, it was kind of freaky.

I’ve never been a fan of fireworks either. Half the time around here they get cancelled on account of fog, so I don’t really have to worry too much about it.

Strangely enough, this post brought back so many memories. We used to go to my cousins’ in PA every 4th and they had SOOO many fireworks they set off in the backyard. I would hide in a bedroom crying and refusing to come out. And then one year I FINALLY got up the courage to hold a sparkler. Freaking out the whole time of course.

I dig that hat! And fireworks scare the hell out of me too. I mean, who likes the sound of them? I would prefer fingernails on a chalkboard. Or the sound of Paris Hilton giving an interview. Hmm… no, maybe not.

Fireworks scare me, too! We would have made fast friends, especially when we were younger. I spent a lot of my time inside watching the fireworks through windows when I was a child.
