Our second stop on the cupcake crawl was Swirlz. Originally we had planned to visit more, but due to time and full bellies we stopped here. It would be pretty difficult to top the delicious cupcakes at Swirlz anyway.
\

\
\
The options excited me. The first place seemed to have a lot of different cupcakes, but only vanilla was available. Sure the frosting changed, but it didn’t change the taste. At Swirlz they have key lime pie, banana nutella, peanut buttercup, and so on. See below for a list of their flavors.
\

\
\
Everyone got a different cupcake so we could taste a little bit of everything. I settled on key lime, mostly because it’s green, partially because it’s lime. I’m pretty sure it was the most amazing cupcake I’ve ever eaten.
\
\
Someone had let it slip that we were bloggers and we were given two free cupcakes! That was really nice of the staff and we really enjoy it.
\

\

\
I don’t know why the mouth never saves!
\
\
Swirlz is located at 705 W. Belden. I definitely recommend stopping by for a tasty treat. It’s a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
\
\
I’m toying with the idea of having birthday cupcakes instead of a birthday cake. Living on the edge!

Oh man. It’s bad enough that the morning show on the radio station I’m listening to right now was talking about having a cupcake craving.. that picture just sent my craving into emergency mode.
\

I would’ve picked the key lime one, too. Sounds deeeelicious.

Maybe you could have lots of different flavour cupcakes joined together by their icing edges as your birthday cake?

I want to try the banana nutella. Nutella, I loves it.

It amuses me greatly that my friends and I accidentally tripped on Swirlz about a year and a half ago. And now you guys are raving about it.

I actually have their ceiling pattern saved on my phone because I loved the interior so much. Buy a t-shirt! I think one of my friends did.

We just discovered a new cupcake place here in Portland that has a million flavors. I can’t WAIT to go! We went to a cupcake place on our first date, so we talked about having them at our wedding, but it turns out a fancy cake is SO much cheaper.

I have a post saved as a draft about this same thing. I’m just waiting to take a picture of Edie with her pupcake!

Ok, this is such a brilliant idea, I can barely contain myself. Since I am new-ish to the blogging world I missed your Cupcake Crawl post. I think I am definitely going to have to do some research and do a similar crawl in LA.

No problem dear. Anytime. It was a great day. You should definitely do the cupcake birthday cake, that is genius. Candles in each one!
By Jessica on 07.01.08 9:23 pm | Permalink
Yum! Those look great. And the list of flavors? Oh, I would have a heyday there and probably eat a dozen cupcakes.

This gives me another reason to come to Chicago, in my book…

Have you ever been to http://www.tinycravings.com ? She makes scented cupcake jewelery. I have the banana one and it smells just like banana cupcakes. Her attention to detail is fab too.

I love cupcakes and now really, really, really want to go there. I’m now going on the lookout for cupcake places here in LA. One spot I went to in Hollywood is a restaurant with a small bakery, and their red velvet cupcakes are heavenly.

I’m a new reader, just wanted to say hi! And also to share that I have a very serious love affair with cupcakes. I HEART them. To me, they are leaps and bounds better than regular cakes. I’m still not sure why I feel this way, I only know that my several times weekly trips to the gym are necessary primarily because I can never pass up a cupcake.

Ooooh yayyyy one of my favorite places everr!!! Glad you guys had such a blast and had so many fabulous cupcakes. Did you go to Molly’s?!?!
