Why do people say things like “pink is the new black”? Obviously pink is pink and black is black. I wouldn’t replace all my pink items with black ones because some random T-shirt at Hot Topic told me to. Hot Topic also told me that they blogged my mom. What does that even mean?! (Is this a sign of getting older? Not understanding the “hip” lingo of the new generation’s angst and hatred for all things pink and fluffy? Oh god, I think I feel some arthritis in my hip joint….)

So I followed this year’s CES because I have too much time on my hands, big dreams and not enough money in my pockets. That doesn’t really make any sense.

Anyway, I’ve been seeing a crap load of pink items and I’m wondering if I missed a trend or if technology is trying to warm up to the female sex a bit more. That’s right boys, we too play video games and MMOs for hours without showering or shaving. Ew. I don’t. I will admit to throwing in some pretty long Wii Bowling practices, but how much can you sweat during that?! This by no means encourages you to stalk female characters in WOW or EVE to find out if they’re really females. Though some of you should probably check before deciding to profess your undying e-love

Moving on again…pink gadgets. I like gadgets. I like pink (to an extent.) But I do not like pink gadgets. Maaaaaybe if they were lime green I’d feel differently. But I just can’t see myself owning a pink monitor, pink “ghetto blaster,” whatever the hell that is, or a pink phone. I’m happy that the industry is recognizing females as consumers, participants, players, etc. But let’s open up and explore the color spectrum a bit more.

Hooray to Verizon for their colorful array of LG phones. I’m particularly fond of the Mint if you haven’t guessed. And yay for the neutral silver and black phones out there. Enough with pink! Boo to the Pink Palm Centro. I don’t care how cute it looks. Of course it appeals to me because, as I’ve mentioned before, I like shiny things I can’t afford. And, for some unknown mental girly reason, my eyes are pulled to the pink. It’s like a genetic problem.

For the record, I do enjoy the movie Pretty In Pink. I do not hate pink flamingos, the pink panther or the Pink Ladies. I have never had pink eye. And despite Aerosmith thinking it made a great song, pink is not my new obsession.

The boyfriend should be so proud of me for including “MMO” and two popular computer games into a post about the color pink. Shower me with love accordingly

Wow, some of those pink things are a little ridiculous. And I like pink. But not that much. Eek.

Haha I think it’s “pink is the new black” and it’s like black is a big staple in everyone’s wardrobe and life, and now pink is too. Obvi not true for most people! Um, I blogged your mom?? How do you even “blog” someone?? I guess I’m getting old too

I admit that I LOVE pink. A lot. But I think technology things (pieces of technology?? haha or gadgets I guess) look kind of cheap and ridiculous in pink. Maybe because they look like kids’ toys? Black looks so much sleeker and high-tech. Everything has a place…and technology is not the place for pink! Though I do love my pink iPod case…

i hate pink. hate it. i will wear it as it is a good color on me, but i detest the fact that even all the packaging on little girls clothes and toys is ALL PINK. horrendous pink. now i’ve seen sporting equipment that’s pink.. what’s wrong with other colors for goodness sake?

you might judge, but I totally got one of those pink wii controller covers to tell between the two. But mine is SO much cuter than that controller you have picture. And Pretty In Pink? Yeah I was pretty much OBSESSED with that movie. Duckie was the best!

I like pink. I especially like pink and brown together. Or pink and grey. I love grey. Oh, grey is lovely, isn’t it?

Pink and brown can be really nice. Depending on the shade of pink though. I like grey, but don’t have enough of it in my wardrobe. I thought of you when I mentioned P.I.P.

I have to admit, I like pink, but while I like the color, I don’t want everything I own to BE pink. Uhhm, because that would just be ugly. But, a little bit of pink here and there makes me feel girlie.
