The other night my dad called and told me my aunt got the autograph of Bears Coach Lovie Smith for herself, him and his friend but not me. Admittedly I was a bit disappointed but told him as long as it wasn’t Johnny Depp it’s okay. You might want to sit down for this next bit. His reply was “Who’s Johnny Depp?” ::Insert jaw dropping here::

Johnny Depp dad! Only one of the more popular and talented actors of the last 20 years! Edward Scissorhands! Jack Sparrow! He then said “ohhh…yeah him” as if he wasn’t sure who I was talking about but wanted me to shut up. I can’t believe it! Someone on the planet doesn’t know who Johnny Depp is! Shocking….

Because I’m all sorts of wonderful I decided to share this fun tidbit with you all. IKEA is having a 20-60% off sale beginning 12/26 and lasting all the way until 1/21! So those of you who hate stepping foot inside of a store after Christmas you’re in luck still.

If I had my own place you know I’d be there buying anything I could get my hands on

I bought myself one of those memory foam pillows that contours to your neck. Thinking this would be wonderful I couldn’t wait to sleep on it last night. But much to my dismay I had one of the most uncomfortable nights. The pillow is very firm. I thought my head would sink into that bad boy. Maybe I’m just not used to it and have to give it more time….

I’m almost done with my book! Only 100 pages left. Right now, I have a feeling the book is much, much better than the movie since it seems to be getting some bad reviews.

I’m not really looking forward to Christmas and New Year’s as much as other people - but I’m so excited to give out gifts this year. I think I got some pretty good ones and I want people to start using them right away. I have the hardest time holding onto a good gift. Plus I did a fantabulous wrapping job! Kitty not included He’s guarding the gifts:

Last but not least, the boyfriend purchased his plane ticket last night (at 12 a.m.) and I booked the hotel. He will be here for my graduation on the 5th! It’ll be an extremely short trip, of course I’m sad. But I’m really happy he’ll be here for that \

I live INCREDIBLY close to one of the Chicagoland Ikeas…and their ads and setups are adorable and witty and cute cute cute.

But their furniture? Meh. A friend of mine in college started a Facebook group called “Ikea Beds Are Not Built For Sex” because he and his girlfriend discovered that Ikea wooden bed frames are essentially made of balsa wood. Yaaay.

So! If you need to decorate? Or buy a new comforter/duvet cover (I LOVE!) or curtains or little home decorating thingies? Ikea’s your place. For big important things like couches and beds? You’d be better off at Target or Craigslist.

I agree. I bought two couches from IKEA and the first one did not last more than 5 months. The second one is doing alright - but I’d enjoy buying more decorative items and maybe bookshelves. Nothing that I need to put my body on

I’ve tried Ikea and haven’t been impressed. Maybe if I lived in a loft apartment.

I’ve used the pillow for 3 nights, and while I like it, I don’t love it. Either my neck is taking a long time to adjust to a proper position or the pillow just sucks haha.

I like IKEA for decorating, but the quality of furniture isn’t that fantastic. Well, except the bookcases I have. Those things rock
