A Prelude

Consider this a prelude to a longer, more contemplated post to be written at a future date.
\

\
In school we began talking about our futures as massage therapists and creating business plans, five-year plans and goals in general that we can set for ourselves. Sometimes just writing something down on paper, giving it life, will help it happen. My instructor said something that really stuck with me: “Change is the only constant” and “be patient and flexible with yourself. Ask yourself for acceptance of the change.” In other words, don’t flip out if something happens that messes up your plan. Welcome that uncertainty, adapt and move along to new, modified goals.

\
We were given an assignment to describe our ideal lifestyle. Given the amount of time I had, these are only the first things that popped into mind. I do have every intention of elaborating more on these and developing my own five-year plan.
\

\
In my ideal lifestyle, I want:
\

\
A partner who: balances my personality, supports me and loves me unconditionally.
\

\
Children who: are healthy, intelligent and respect me.
\

\
A home that: reflects my personality and makes me feel safe.
\

\
To contribute by: inspiring others.
\

\
To get recognition for: my resilience and experiences.
\

\
To live where: my spirit can be free.
\

\
Freedom to: love, trust and be inspired.
\

\
To be rewarded by: seeing the difference I’ve made in the lives around me.
\

\
To have time to: achieve all of my goals.
\

\
To travel: everywhere.
\

\
To grow by: living, loving and being loved.
