Even animals have parenting problems.

Officials from Brookfield Zoo said two tiger cubs who were attacked over the weekend are recuperating after surgery.

It is said that one cub apparently reached a paw into an adjoining enclosure and was attacked by its father. The cubs’ mother was in the enclosure with her cubs and apparently damaged their tails trying to pull them away from their father.

One cub had to have a front leg amputated and its tail repaired, while the other only needed tail surgery.

Zoo officials say both cubs are alert and showing signs of recovery. They are expected to be back on exhibit in the spring.

The body of Nailah Franklin was found in a wooded area last week. The family has set her funeral for Wednesday.

The pharmaceutical sales rep was reported missing Sept. 19. Two days later, her car and personal items were found. Her family offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.

Authorities found Franklin’s body badly decomposed in Calumet City last week. She had to be identified by her dental records.

Her family and friends have set up a memorial fund in her name at The Chicago Community Trust.

Bank of Assholes America has finally completed its take over of LaSalle Banks. LaSalle was bought for $21 billion. Soon LaSalle Bank signs will begin to change to BoA signs. BoA will also move its headquarters from Chicago to Atlanta (do you find irony in any of this mom?)

The sales tax hike I mentioned yesterday has been deferred, for now. The Cook County Board voted 9-7 to defer until mid-October before taking any further action on the proposed sales tax increase.

A friend of ours (a medical student) toured the Zoo labs the other day and saw the Tiger cubs. She told us this story – it’s crazy, huh? Mind you, that’s what you get for interrupting dad’s TV-time. He was watching a National Geographic special on India.

Haha I guess that’s like interrupting a man’s football game.
