Vanessa Hudgens: Scandalous?

I think not.

Last night a photo of Vanessa Hudgens was posted on Perez Hilton. Hilton was questioning it’s validity. This morning it was reported that the photo was in fact real. That’s right, Miss Hudgens is not denying that a nude photo of herself has been leaked onto the internet (as happens to so many young starlets in Hollywood).

“This was a photo which was taken privately,” said Jill Fritzo, the “High School Muscial star’s publicist. “It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public.”

The photo shows Hudgens standing nude in front of a camera. There is no word who took the photo or who it was for (::cough cough:: Efron! ::cough cough).

To much surprise, parents of kids who love “High School Musical” aren’t all up in a frenzy about the picture.

“That’s her private life, not her public life. That picture got leaked by somebody who broke a trust with her,” said Michele Smith of Westborough, Mass., whose 8-year-old daughter Kathryn is a devoted “High School Musical” fan.

Hudgens shouldn’t have to pay a price for the incident, Smith said, adding she was concerned that Disney’s image might prompt the company to take action against the actress.

Dropping her from future movies or other “High School Musical” projects would not only be unfair to Hudgens but to fans such as Kathryn, Smith said.

“If Vanessa is not in the movie, my daughter would not be so excited to see it,” she said.

Hopefully Disney won’t get their panties in a twist over this one picture and drop her from future HSM-related projects. It’s one photo. There’s nothing really “bad” about it. It’s human form in the most natural way. She’s not being derogatory, dirty or disrespectful in anyway. She’s 18. It’s her private life and she’s not out partying, flashing her naughty bits every night as she drunkenly stumbles out of her limo.

I say let’s not make a big deal out of nothing. I think we need to worry more about Ms. Spears dropping her babies and Ms. Hilton wanting to reproduce next year ::insert scream face from “Home Alone” here::
