I am excited because I have actually finished a book…a task that is not often celebrated in my life because rarely do I finish one. Remember that book “Stiff” I was reading? If not, I wrote about it here
I read it practically every free chance I could. I even tried to slow down and plan my reading time less and less frequent so I wouldn’t finish it too quickly. I think that would be a book I could definitely read a second time and still learn something new.
This book helped me become a small fountain of random information about cadavers and how they were used in the past to help pave the way for the present. For example, did you know that people once thought eating a cadaver’s flesh would help prevent bruising? Or that two brothers, one who worked with the deceased and another who owned a restaurant, used human buttocks to make dumplings? True story! (That happened in the 90s by the way).
I did find another book by the same author though and I have to admit I am very excited about reading this book:

I’m not sure if I’d recommend it yet or not. If it’s anything like the first book, I definitely would. But I’ll be sure to share my review of it when I finish it. If any of you are remotely interested in human cadavers, their uses and their contributions to science, and a bit of a history lesson, I would definitely recommend checking out “Stiff.”
